It's our Valentine's Day special... and as we like to remind people, 200 years ago there was no "speed dating" or dating apps, people just danced! You never know, love might be in the air ;)
Whilst this is NOT a dating night, all the dances we do are about people dancing together, and many involve swapping partners and dancing with everyone in the room. This is speed dating of the 1700s!
About The Dancing
Although called many things; Ceilidh, Country Dance, Barn Dance, Ceili Dance, Square Dance, Set Dancing - one thing is certain, it's all "traditional" and how people would entertain themselves before TV and raves. We have a live band on stage to provide the music, and a "Dance Caller", who is expert at teaching you all the simple and fun moves. First we learn the dance by walking through it with the caller, then the band strike up, and we dance to the music. You don't need any experience, just willingness to have a go and have fun.

Location: Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London, WC1R 4RL

Put your dancing shoes on and help us support Abortion Talk!
Following the 2024 BSACP Conference we are are going to have a reception, ceilidh, and fundraiser for the charity Abortion Talk. This event is hosted in collaboration with our partners Abortion Talk and Doctors for Choice UK.
Abortion Talk is on a mission to encourage individuals and communities to have conversations about abortion to end abortion stigma. Abortion Talk runs the UK’s first and only free, confidential Talkine for anyone who needs a safe space to talk about their abortion experience. They also run workshops for abortion providers, community groups, and activists, giving them time to explore the rewards of their work and the challenges of abortion-related stigma.
This will be a chance to not only support the work of our great partner Abortion Talk but also a great opportunity to network with people working in abortion care, sexual and reproductive healthcare, and advocacy.
The reception will take place at the same venue as the conference (Conway Hall, London) from 19:30 to 22:30. There will be canapés and a bar.
